Theory on Learning

The theory I have used throughout my years of education is repetitiveness. Typically, I attend every class, print the notes, and take my own personal notes. As the teacher is presenting the information, I am also writing any additional information in the margin of my paper. Once I begin to start studying for the class, I refer to the teachers notes and mine as well. The best way I have learned is seeing the information over and over again and essentially becoming so profoundly involved with what I am studying so that the information sticks, therefore I can regurgitate it onto a test. Do I necessarily agree with this theory? No; I would prefer a method that applied everything I was taught because then I would remember the information better If I actually used it. I believe people learn in various methods because every person is different. Some use repetition or just have to see the information once and they can remember every detail. It's hard to place a standard way of learning for everyone, therefore I believe people choose the way they want to learn and use it. I completely agree with the readings in a sense that there needs to be more application. Just seeing the information is one thing, but having students see it and use it, they would probably learn it better and remember it.
